Star Fox returns on Nintendo Switch 2
Releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2026, Star Fox marks the return of one of Nintendo's most recognisable space adventure franchises, bringing a modern reimagining of the Nintendo 64 classic Lylat Wars to a new generation of players.
The game follows Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team as they defend the Lylat System from the threat posed by the scientist Andross. Players pilot the iconic Arwing spacecraft through a variety of missions that combine high-speed aerial combat, exploration and cinematic storytelling.
Built for Nintendo Switch 2, Star Fox features updated character designs, enhanced environments, fully voiced dialogue and an orchestral soundtrack. The game revisits familiar locations across the Lylat System while expanding the story and introducing modern gameplay features for both returning fans and newcomers.
Players can explore multiple routes through the campaign, uncovering different missions and challenges based on the choices they make throughout their journey. In addition to the main adventure, the game includes challenge-based content and a multiplayer Battle Mode that allows teams to compete in objective-driven space combat.
Star Fox also takes advantage of Nintendo Switch 2 features, including Joy-Con 2 mouse controls and GameChat integration, offering new ways for players to experience the action and connect with friends.
